Riccardo Maccabruni
Everybody’s feeling
(Riccardo Maccabruni)

Walking on the sidewalk
comes an old man,
holding a long cane
with his trembling hand.

He made his fortune stealing
everything that he could get,
and he’s proud because
he never payed his debts.

Reaching to the crossroad
comes a businessman,
holding a nice suitcase
with his clean hand.

He’s thinking ‘bout a promise
he’s going to regret,
but he finds out his sorrow
it’s getting easier to forget.

It’s everybody’s feeling,
do they even know,
It’s everybody’s feeling
to be the only one.
Everybody’s feeling,
even if they don’t show,
everybody’s feeling alone.

Leaving the soft shadows
of a back lane,
comes a skinny boy
riding with no hands.

He never had to worry
he never had to sweat,
he think he’s tough
but he never met no threat.

It’s everybody’s feeling,
do they even know,
It’s everybody’s feeling
to be the only one.
Everybody’s feeling,
even if they don’t show,
everybody’s feeling alone.

If we could see our lifeline
as a whole,
will we keep on
following a role?

Or will we try to ease our mind
and take control
free to chase
the rabbit down the hole.

It’s everybody’s feeling,
do they even know,
It’s everybody’s feeling
to be the only one.
Everybody’s feeling,
even if they don’t show,
everybody’s feeling alone.
